Lizzie Chance (née Burton) MRICS FAAV VRS Registered Valuer

West Country Rural Ltd was established in 2016 by Lizzie Chance (née Burton) MRICS FAAV RICS VRS Registered Valuer. The company provides a wide range of professional services to farmers and land owners across Devon and Cornwall and the surrounding counties. Lizzie qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2010 simultaneously qualifying as a RICS Registered Valuer, a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) in 2013 and as a particular area of interest, Lizzie recently completed a diploma in Arbitration via the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Main areas of work include assisting clients with landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews, lease renewals, grass keep arrangements, end of tenancy dilapidations/ingoing tenant valuations etc; dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration; RPA Countryside Stewardship and SFI applications and appeals; valuations of rural property for a variety of purposes; preliminary tax planning in conjunction with accountants and solicitors; planning applications for a variety of agricultural and equestrian developments including farm buildings and dwellings as well as diversification projects; compulsory purchase and compensation; sales of land and farms; and assisting land owner clients to navigate strategic development opportunities.

Lizzie has worked in a number of different regions in England and is able to draw on a wealth of knowledge, experience and professional contacts to find the right solution for your farming business or enhance the management and enjoyment of your property.

Kim Cross

Kimberley Cross, Assistant Land Agent

Kim joined WCR in 2024 as an assistant land agent to Lizzie Chance. Kim enjoys carrying out a wide range of professional work, including Countryside Stewardship grant applications, Sustainable Farming Incentive applications and agreement management, assisting to prepare planning applications, compensation claims and valuation of rural property. Kim is working towards gaining professional qualifications through the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Outside of the office, Kim enjoys riding horses and climbing mountains.

Natalie Robinson
Natalie Robinson, Office Manager and Administrator

 

Natalie joined WCR as office manager and administrator in 2025. Natalie lives locally near Drewsteignton with her husband, who is a farmer and agricultural contractor; they have two young sons.

Outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending time with her children and the family spaniel, baking and walking on Dartmoor.
